Such a price is too heavy. At the same time, these enterprises are mostly labor-intensive and low-tech enterprises. There are many companies that produce automobile tires, glass, and tape recorders, but there are few that can produce ABS and EFI systems. And these are exactly where innovation is needed. Some experts said that in the development and innovation of auto parts and components, we should first absorb the advanced technologies of other countries and then develop our own products.

Market capacity can support innovation

During the interview, experts all said that Guangdong now has a considerable market capacity to support self-innovation. Now the three major Japanese auto giants have settled in Guangzhou, and Shenzhen BYD Auto has also started. Hundreds of parts and components companies have taken root in Guangzhou and the surrounding areas, and areas such as Guangzhou and Foshan have formed large-scale auto parts industry clusters. This creates a very good market condition for independent innovation.
From the point of view of vehicle manufacturing, the automotive industry with Guangzhou as its leader has maintained a strong growth momentum this year. From January to August this year, a total of 250,000 cars were produced in Guangzhou, an increase of 50.43% year-on-year, 35 percentage points higher than the national average, and the national car production increased from 11.5% in 2004 to 13.74%, ranking second in the country.
