The driver of an SUV was seriously injured when their vehicle collided with a tree in a single-car accident. Emergency responders from Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, and Long Grove quickly arrived at the scene near the intersection of west Deerfield Parkway, situated between Milwaukee Avenue and Busch Parkway. Firefighters worked diligently for over an hour to carefully extract the trapped driver using specialized equipment. Once freed, the victim was immediately transported to Condell Hospital for medical attention.
Attached are several images captured by Larry Shapiro, documenting the intense efforts of the firefighters as they worked to save the driver. In one photo, you can see the firefighters utilizing Holmatro rescue tools to cut through the wreckage, while another captures the dramatic scene involving multiple fire trucks and emergency vehicles gathered at the crash site. Additional photos showcase the technical precision required during such rescues, highlighting the teamwork and expertise of the first responders involved.
The severity of the crash is evident in the images, with visible damage to both the vehicle and its surroundings.
