Fremont, CA, May 20, 2021
Nationwide Boiler Inc., a global leader in providing temporary and permanent boiler systems, proudly announced the outcomes of their 40th Annual Charity Golf Tournament held at Pebble Beach, CA earlier this month. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic last year, which led to the postponement of the event, Nationwide Boiler successfully organized a safe and meaningful gathering. Approximately two-thirds of the regular attendees participated, and although there were no in-person banquets, the event managed to raise an impressive $40,000. This generous amount will be evenly distributed between the two beneficiary organizations of this year’s tournament: Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area and The American Boiler Manufacturers Association (ABMA) Randy Rawson Scholarship Fund.
The tournament spanned two days, starting with a practice round at The Links at Spanish Bay, followed by the main competition at the iconic Pebble Beach Golf Links. Funds were raised through various channels, including hole sponsorships, corporate sponsorships, on-site competitions like the four-man scramble and two-man best ball, mulligan sales, raffle tickets, and—new this year—an online auction. Although the absence of in-person banquets impacted some revenue streams, the introduction of the online auction opened up opportunities for participants who couldn’t attend physically to contribute directly to the cause.
Participants included customers, suppliers, and representatives from the boiler industry, all coming together to support these two exceptional organizations while honoring Nationwide Boiler's longstanding commitment to giving back to the community.
Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area, established in 1984, is one of the largest chapters in the nation. It serves 17 counties in Northern California, fulfilling the dreams of critically ill children aged 2½ to 18. To date, they have granted over 8,500 wishes, with close to 400 wishes annually before the pandemic disrupted operations.
The Randy Rawson Scholarship Fund, initiated by the ABMA, aims to encourage careers in boiler engineering and fabrication. The fund provides financial assistance for post-secondary education and technical training to graduating high school students interested in the boiler, combustion, and related industries. Since its founding, the ABMA has awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to deserving students.
Based in Fremont, CA, Nationwide Boiler Inc. has been offering innovative boiler solutions to industrial clients for nearly 55 years.
