Recently, MacGregor received a contract from Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. to deliver a roll-to-roll equipment package for two rear Panamax ro-ro carriers.
The new ship is being built in Hyundai Okiura, the shipowner is the Luxembourg ship operator CLdN (Cobelfret), and the contract also includes the priority of three ships.
It is reported that the new captain is 235 meters long and has a width of 35 meters. It will be the world's largest commercial ro-ro carrier after completion. Each MacGregor roll-on entry kit will include a stern ramp, internal ramp, bulkhead doors and a 4-story liftable electronically controlled car deck.
The new vessel is expected to enter service in 2017 and be deployed on the Nordic route.
