North Aurora updates

When a new department joins our website, we aim to ensure all our listings are as accurate as possible. However, things can change quickly, and sometimes information becomes outdated before we can update it. Recently, when North Aurora joined our site, we mistakenly listed some units as being stationed at their annex building. It turns out this information was incorrect, and we appreciate any feedback or corrections our readers can provide. This exact situation happened recently when Brian Kazmierzak, who serves in the Clay Fire Territory in South Bend, noticed something unusual while browsing our site. He recognized one of the units listed and sent us an email along with a photo of Clay Fire Tactical Rescue 2 (T2). Interestingly, this unit looks very similar to North Aurora’s Technical Rescue 540. It turns out that the Clay Fire Territory actually acquired this vehicle from North Aurora back in July 2010. Since September 2010, it has been serving as part of the MABAS Division 201 Tactical Rescue Team. This was news to us, and we’re grateful to Brian for pointing it out and providing such detailed information. To give you a better idea of what these vehicles look like, here’s a photo of Clay Fire Territory’s Tactical Rescue 2. As you’ll notice, it closely resembles North Aurora’s former Technical Rescue 540. [Image description: A side view of Clay Fire Territory's Tactical Rescue 2, showing its boxy design and emergency lights.] Brian also mentioned that another vehicle, Technical Rescue 544—a 1997 Freightliner FLD/Fruehauf—has made its way to Aurora. This particular rig has quite the history and continues to play an important role in rescue operations. We’re always excited to learn about these transitions and how equipment moves between departments. If you ever spot anything that seems off or want to share updates, don’t hesitate to reach out! Your contributions help keep our records as current and accurate as possible. Looking forward, we hope to continue receiving valuable insights from our readers. After all, fire departments often swap or sell vehicles, and staying informed ensures everyone benefits from up-to-date knowledge. Thanks again to Brian for his keen eye and willingness to share!
