The Ministry of Industry and Information indicates that the industrial added value is expected to increase by more than 13.5% this year

Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Yizhong said on the 6th that the industrial added value is expected to increase by more than 13.5% this year, and the extensive model of Chinese industry has not yet fundamentally changed.

Li Yizhong stated at the Fourth Round of Chinese and Foreign CEOs' Meeting that this year is the last year of the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan”. During the past five years, China’s industrialization has been advancing rapidly, and the industrial economy has generally maintained steady and rapid development. The strength has reached a new level, the structural adjustment efforts have been continuously increased, and the capacity for independent innovation has been a breakthrough. Energy-saving and emission-reduction have been implemented in a solid and orderly manner, and the level of reform and opening up has been continuously improved.

Li Yizhong also pointed out that the deep-seated impact of the current international financial crisis has not been eliminated, the foundation for world economic recovery is still not solid, and the external environment has become more complex. From the perspective of China’s industrial situation, the long-term accumulation of structural contradictions is still very prominent, and the extensive development model has not yet fundamentally changed. China's industrial development has entered a critical period in which only the transformation of development methods can be sustained. It is imperative to change the mode of industrial development.
