Angola is currently Africa’s largest oil producer

According to an overseas media report on May 31, the results of a survey conducted recently by Platts, a world-famous energy information company, showed that Angola’s oil production exceeded that of Nigeria in April, thus becoming Africa’s largest oil producer.
According to statistics released by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in April, Angola produced an average of 1.92 million barrels of oil a day in April, slightly lower than its 1.93 million barrels of potential. At the same time, Nigeria’s production of 1.88 million barrels of oil per day in April averaged only two-thirds of OPEC’s estimated production capacity of Nigeria’s oil (2.5 million barrels).
As a new member state of OPEC, Angola has gradually increased its oil production through the development of new offshore oil fields, while Nigeria has been plagued by persistent supply disruptions.
The main reason for this rapid change in position is the persistence of turmoil and insecurity in the Niger Delta, which holds Nigeria’s oil wealth. The oil facilities in the Niger Delta have long been attacked by armed personnel, and the succession government has tried to solve this problem. However, the security situation in the Niger Delta has not seen any improvement.
Industry analysts have long predicted that Angola’s oil production will exceed Nigeria’s becoming Africa’s largest oil producer. Their reasons are based on the turbulent situation in the Niger Delta and the recent development of oil workers working at ExxonMobil. Time strike action.
