[Chemical composition] The same components as andalusite . However, kyanite may contain Cr 3+ (≤128%), and often contains Fe 2 O 3 (up to 1% to 2%, sometimes up to 7%) and a small amount of CaO, MgO, FeO, TiO 2 and the like.

[Physical properties] Blue, cyan or white, also gray, green, yellow, pink and black; glass luster, pearly luster on the cleavage surface. The cleave {100} is complete, {010} medium; {001} has a split. The hardness varies with direction: on the (100) plane, the parallel c-axis direction is 4.5, the vertical c-axis direction is 6, and the vertical (c) and (110) planes are 7 in the c-axis direction, so it is also called Two hard stones. [genesis and occurrence] Kyanite is a product of regional metamorphism, which is mostly metamorphosed by argillaceous rocks and is a typical metamorphic mineral in the chip rock. In addition, kyanite is also produced in some high-pressure metamorphic belts.
