Lemont FPD tanker for sale

Subject: Important Update on Surplus Water Tender for Sale Hi everyone, I just came across this announcement from the Lemont Fire Protection District’s Facebook page about selling a surplus water tender. It seems like they’re looking for sealed bids, so I thought I’d share this info in case anyone’s interested. Here's the gist of it: The Lemont Fire Protection District is inviting sealed bids for the purchase of a surplus water tender. This vehicle has quite a history—it was bought new back in 1998 using an International chassis. Interestingly enough, the stainless-steel water tank was originally from a 1986 model and was remounted onto the current chassis in 1998. Since then, it’s been consistently maintained by their in-house mechanic and is still in excellent condition despite its age. The pump was even replaced in 2017! Some key specs include: - A 2-person cab - International 530E 300 HP motor - Allison Model 3060/4000 transmission - A 3,200-gallon stainless steel tank - A 300 GPM Waterous fire pump The tender currently has around 29,950 miles and 3,520 engine hours. Before the sale, all the Lemont Fire District graphics will be removed, and any additional equipment will also be taken off. Plus, the new owner will get access to all the maintenance records. Bidding details: - Bids can be submitted either by mail or in person at the Lemont Fire Protection District office. - Bids are due by 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2023. - They’ll open the bids publicly at the same time and location. - Appointments can be arranged to view the vehicle at the station. There are some important rules regarding the bidding process—like minimum bids starting at $30,000—and once the bid is awarded, payment needs to be made within ten business days. The winning bidder will also need to remove the vehicle from the property within five business days after payment. One thing to note is that the sale is final, “as-is,” with no refunds or returns allowed. The Lemont Fire District reserves the right to reject any bids if necessary. If you’re interested, feel free to reach out to Deputy Chief Matt Peksa at (708) 243-7652 to arrange a viewing. There are also photos available online if you search for "Chi-Town Fire Photos." Let me know if you think this could be a good opportunity for someone you know! Best regards, [Your Name]
