Hey everyone,
I just came across some really cool photos on the Quad County Fire Equipment, Inc. and Fire Truck Resource Facebook page. They’re documenting all the hard work that went into refurbishing a former tanker from the Prospect Heights FPD before it gets delivered to the Redick Community FPD. It’s amazing to see the transformation happening step by step.
The first few images show the initial stages of the refurbishment process. You can see how they’re carefully dismantling parts and cleaning everything up. It's impressive to watch them bring this old truck back to life! The next set of photos captures more detailed work—repainting, fixing the interior, and making sure every single component is functioning perfectly. There’s something so satisfying about seeing these guys pour their expertise into every detail.
Then there’s a couple of shots of what looks like an entirely new tanker in progress for the Redick Community FPD. The design seems modern yet practical, with clear attention to safety and efficiency. I love how they’ve managed to blend functionality with a sleek aesthetic. One particular image stood out to me—it shows the tanker almost complete, sitting proudly under the sun, ready for its new home.
There’s also a slightly different angle where the tanker is shown at a bit of a tilt, giving you a better view of the undercarriage and how they’ve reinforced it. It’s these little touches that make such a big difference when it comes to reliability and performance.
Overall, it’s inspiring to see how much effort goes into ensuring these vehicles are up to standard. Big thanks to Chris for sharing these fantastic photos! I can only imagine how excited the Redick Community FPD will be once they receive their new addition. Fire departments truly rely on companies like Quad County Fire Equipment to keep their fleets running smoothly, and it’s great to know there are professionals out there who take pride in their work.
Take care,
