Late Monday evening, shortly after 10 PM, the North Maine Fire Protection District (FPD) was dispatched to 9023 Terrace Place following reports of a dryer fire. Upon their arrival, firefighters discovered a basement fire that quickly escalated, prompting an upgrade to a Working Fire status. The flames had already spread to an adjacent unit in the four-unit townhouse complex, leading to a request for a MABAS Box Alarm to bring in additional resources.
The fire was ultimately brought under control relatively quickly, though some of the responding units were later released as the situation stabilized. Units from multiple districts were on scene, including North Maine Battalion 1, Engine 1, and Ambulance 1; Des Plaines Battalion 61, Engine 61, Ambulance 61, and Tower 61; Niles Battalion 2, Engine 2, and Truck 2; Morton Grove Battalion 4 and Squad 4; Rosemont Truck 158 and Battalion 9; Mount Prospect Engine 13; Park Ridge Battalion 35; Glenview Ambulance 7 and Engine 7; and Northbrook Ambulance 10.
