I just got back from responding to a major fire at a garage in Robbins on December 27. It was a pretty intense situation involving a large, brick-constructed garage that measured about 20 by 40 feet. From what I could see, it seemed like the place had been used as a storage area for quite a bit of stuff. It was a challenging scene to manage because we had limited space due to the location being a dead end. As a result, I had to take the photos of the firefighting equipment from slightly closer than I normally would have preferred.
Here’s a look at three of the rigs that were on the scene. Despite the tight quarters, everyone worked together efficiently to get things under control.

Overall, it was a tough call but a great example of teamwork between multiple departments. The conditions weren’t ideal, but our guys handled it with professionalism and skill. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated individuals who always rise to the occasion when emergencies arise.
