Several cameras were installed for customers, and customers wanted to implement multiple Hikvision DVRs to preview the images of these cameras at the same time. For example, a hard disk recorder (A) in the monitoring center needs to be recorded and previewed, a hard disk recorder (B) at the guardhouse is to be previewed, and a hard disk recorder (C) preview is also placed in the hall.

How to implement multiple Hikvision network hard disk recorders NVR to add the same network camera IPC?

In the past, many customers added the network camera directly to each network hard disk recorder NVR. However, sometimes there are "black screen preview", "IPC dropped", "video playback timeline".

The current solution is to use RTSP to add stream and use "add custom" to achieve RTSP stream.

RTSP Add IPC Introduction:

Entering the RTSP stream address of the network camera in the network hard disk recorder can realize the access to the main and substreams of the network camera, and can perform basic functions such as preview, recording and playback in real time, but no control function (PTZ control, Modify the code rate, set the OSD, etc.).

Detailed steps:

Example environment: Add a DS-2CD3Q10FD-IW to 3 network DVRs.

The first step is that the main video recorder is normally added

The first network DVR is called the main VTR and has the authority to adjust the camera control.

On this recorder, just follow the usual steps to add 3Q10.

Step 2 Add Video Recorder RTSP Add

1. Enter the VTR main menu - Channel Management - Channel Configuration, click on "Custom Add" and select Protocol Management.

Go to "Protocol Management" and go to "Custom Add"

2. In the Protocol Management menu, enter the IPC main and substream stream addresses in the "Resource path" column.

Main stream: /ch1/main/av_stream, substream: /ch1/sub/av_stream

*Note: This path is the camera access path for Hikvision, please consult with third-party vendors for the third-party camera path.

3. Click OK to enter the custom add IP channel interface, select the IP address of the camera you want to add, select “Custom1” in Step 2 and enter the IPC username and password, and click “Add”.

Add multiple cameras? Just repeat step 3 and use protocol "Custom1". Enter the corresponding IP, user name, and password of the camera you want to add.

4. Repeat the above steps on the third VCR.

Is a network camera or network dome added to a few NVRs?

Hikvision's distribution network cameras (3 series, 1 series) have a maximum number of 6 channels.

When the NVR adds IPC, it will also take the primary stream and substream of the IPC. That is, each NVR occupies two IPC resources, so the distribution IPC is added by at most 3 NVRs.

Hikvision's distribution network domes have a maximum of 20 channels and can be added by up to 10 NVRs.
