Still and Box Alarm fire in Chicago, 9-16-18

This is from Steve Redick:

Last night, I took on a quick call just across the street from Engine 11’s station. I arrived pretty quickly, but by the time I figured out which side of the building the fire was on, there wasn’t much going on anymore. A handline had already been stretched up to Truck 9’s aerial, and I think an interior line had already brought the fire under control. I saw one victim being treated on the scene.

I’m not sure if it was a small residential structure or something else, but the response was quick and the fire didn’t spread much. It looked like the crew had everything under control pretty fast. The scene was pretty quiet once we got there, which made me appreciate how efficient the team was. I snapped a few photos as part of my usual documentation, and I’ll share them with you here. It's always interesting to see how things unfold in real time, even when they’re not too dramatic.
