Bayer and Changzhou Tupu Institute jointly promote waterborne coatings

2008 is the water-based technology promotion year for the Chinese paint industry. Bayer MaterialScience and China National Chemical Construction Corporation Changzhou Paint and Chemical Research Institute recently reached a "water based mobilization" cooperation agreement.
The agreement stipulates that the two parties will jointly hold a series of publicity and promotion activities this year, including water-based paint application technology seminars, industry and government forums, and technical training, aiming to promote the rapid structural adjustment and customer application technology development of China's water-based paint industry. The two parties will also hold waterborne plastic coatings, waterborne wood coatings, waterborne automotive and refinish coatings, and waterborne flooring and architectural coatings to increase the application of waterborne polyurethane coatings in many areas in China.
Bayer MaterialScience is the global market leader in waterborne coatings and has built an integrated base in Shanghai to meet China's future demand for waterborne coatings. Changzhou Paint & Chemical Research Institute possesses first-class coating application R&D capabilities and has achieved a number of scientific and technological achievements. At present, the waterborne polyurethane floor coating system provided by Bayer MaterialScience has been used in the China Olympic National Swimming Center, and its coating raw materials are also used in the National Stadium Sports Center's Bird's Nest project.
