High Selectivity of Novel Catalysts for Olefin Alkylation

The preparation and performance of a new catalyst for the alkylation of benzene and olefins by the Natural Science Foundation of Heilongjiang Province undertaken by Harbin Normal University has yielded satisfactory results. The research published 5 academic papers in internationally renowned publications, applied for 2 national invention patents, and won the second prize for science and technology of universities in Heilongjiang Province.

The project team prepared a new type of solid acid and acidic ionic liquid catalytic material, and characterized the prepared solid acid, and determined the composition of solid acid. The catalytic activity of the alkylation reaction was investigated using the prepared solid acid and acidic ionic liquid materials. The results show that the prepared solid acid has high activity for the alkylation reaction and selectivity of the target product. At the same time, the synthesis of diphenylmethane by alkylation under the catalysis of acidic ionic liquids has also obtained satisfactory results, and its activity and selectivity to target products are very high.
