Home appliances industry to reduce the trend of plastic

The Shanghai Household Electrical Appliance Industry Association secretary-general Luan Gen said that according to the need for lighter and lighter household appliances and cost reduction, home appliances have become a major trend in the development of the home appliance industry. As China has become a global home appliance manufacturing center, the demand for plastic materials is increasing. According to statistics, plastics have become the second largest category of raw materials in the home appliance industry, which is second only to steel. Plastic materials are also the fastest growing material in the field of household appliances. In recent years, the average growth rate has reached about 29.5% per year.
According to reports, the amount of plastic in household appliances is now increasing. At present, the proportion of plastics in China's major home appliances is: 60% for vacuum cleaners, 38% for refrigerators, 34% for washing machines, 23% for televisions, and 10% for air conditioners. Nowadays, all plastic electric irons, plastic vacuum cleaners, and all-plastic washers are available. In the next few years, it is expected that the average growth rate of new products in the household appliance industry in China will reach 12% to 15%.
Luan pointed out that in the future, the home appliance industry will continue to put forward higher quality and environmental protection requirements for plastics, and the recycling and recycling industry of waste household appliances will become a new economic growth point for the industry. “With the introduction of relevant environmental protection regulations, the environmental protection requirements for household appliances and plastic parts are getting higher and higher; at the same time, as consumers’ health awareness increases, the proportion of environmentally friendly plastic products will continue to increase.”
