On December 12, 2023, around 2 p.m., the Roselle Fire Department responded to a serious house fire on Long Avenue in unincorporated Schaumburg. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a fully involved single-family home, making it one of the more challenging calls of the day.
Due to the limited water supply at the scene, multiple fire departments from surrounding areas stepped in to assist. Tenders from Roselle, West Chicago, Bloomingdale, and Pingree Grove provided critical support by supplying Engine 64 until a hydrant could be secured. This collaborative effort highlights the importance of mutual aid between fire departments during emergencies.
