Key valve and valve technology upgrade China's assault nuclear power production

"Go buy some nuclear-related corporate stocks in China!" AREVA Group's insiders half-jokingly told reporters.
The Areva Group, which officially announced the successful bid for the construction of China's nuclear power plants, was one of the oldest partners for nuclear power plant construction in China. However, they now need to face a new situation. According to the national "Eleventh Five-Year Plan", by 2020, China's nuclear power equipment must be domestically produced more than 70%.
This, in turn, puts some pressure on Areva's people.
"One key point in the domesticization of nuclear power plant equipment is that it can save money." A senior person in the Chinese nuclear industry told reporters that at present they are researching the reliability of foreign companies' technology transfer and the reliability of domestically produced equipment.
According to projections, under the national nuclear power development plan, domestic nuclear power equipment will usher in a large market of 360 billion yuan.
Spring belongs to domestic nuclear power equipment
It seems that it is still impossible to mention the "localization of equipment" of nuclear power two years ago.
Xu Yong (a pseudonym), a sales manager of a Sino-Japanese joint venture's nuclear equipment company in Jiangsu, used to be among the few nuclear power plants in China. “At that time, I just hoped that we could sell the pipes we produced to the Qinshan nuclear power plant, but they eventually did. Select foreign production equipment, think that it is more secure.” Xu Yong said that the latest rules will allow their business to usher in harvest.
The "National Nuclear Power Development Thematic Plan" shows that by 2020, China will strive to increase the installed nuclear power capacity from the current 9.068 million kilowatts to 40 million kilowatts, and finally build 20 nuclear power plants. These nuclear power plants will fully adopt the world’s most advanced third-generation nuclear power technology.
According to the plan, the proportion of nuclear power in China’s total installed power capacity will increase from less than 2% to 4%, and the total investment is expected to reach RMB 450 billion.
"From the current perspective, 450 billion yuan in construction investment will have 70% to 80% of the share of Chinese enterprises. After all, this market is nearly 460 billion yuan." Fu Manchang, secretary general of the China Nuclear Society, said that "it is difficult for domestic equipment to enter nuclear power plants in the future." The situation will be greatly improved under the national plan."
It is understood that the major nuclear power components produced by Chinese companies have recently been exported to South Korea.
“The huge market for nuclear power construction will drive our nuclear power equipment manufacturing industry, and nuclear power equipment export will also be one of the future plans,” Fu Manchang said.
It is reported that among the large purchase orders for nuclear power plant construction in the country, only companies that qualify for certification can participate.
Behind the plan is a huge construction cost
A nuclear equipment manufacturing company in Jiangsu told the reporter, “If you use localized equipment or use joint-venture nuclear equipment, the price may be nearly 40% cheaper than direct purchase of imported equipment.” It is understood that the price of some imported components is Domestic components prices are several times higher.
“The construction cost of nuclear power plants will directly affect the cost of power generation for nuclear power plants, how to reduce costs, and enable the country’s nuclear power development plan to be implemented. This is something we must consider in the industry.” The nuclear industry senior person said.
Areva people also agree with this view, in his view, the initial cost of nuclear power plant is very alarming. If the cost can be reduced in the earlier period, the price of nuclear power will be greatly reduced.
It is understood that the cost of nuclear power plants mainly comes from the construction costs invested in the previous period, and the price of nuclear raw materials is only one-tenth of the cost of power generation. If the initial investment is included in the cost, the initial power generation cost of the nuclear power plant will be much higher than the thermal power price, which is one of the reasons why the nuclear power project is difficult to popularize.
According to the French nuclear power plant construction plan, when the loan amount accounts for 42% of the total investment, the annual debt of the nuclear power plant is 1.8 times of annual income in the initial period of construction, which also leads to a very high electricity price cost. "Only after 20 years of operation will the nuclear power plant price show its superiority." The above sources revealed that "at this time, the electricity price will drop to 0.3 yuan."
According to informed sources, China's nuclear power plant construction will have 70% to 80% of the cost of financing the community.
At present, if the construction cost is taken into account, the cost of power generation for the new nuclear power plant in China will be at an extremely high level, which is expected to be twice the current price of thermal power.
Fourth-generation autonomous nuclear power technology still needs time
The localization of nuclear power equipment is an inevitable general direction. However, it is a question whether domestic equipment manufacturers can manufacture equipment meeting the standards in a short time.
In response, Fu Manchang said that Chinese companies are fully capable of producing components that meet standards and regulations.
At the same time, a foreign-funded nuclear power business person explained to reporters, “There is a problem with the safety and stability of equipment produced by Chinese companies. This is one of the reasons why many nuclear power plants in China used to use imported equipment.”
In view of this person, to develop nuclear power on a large scale, localization of equipment is an inevitable trend, but he believes that it cannot be blindly localized.
The decision-making level of China's nuclear power seems to have also realized this problem. Nuclear power production enterprises with state-owned assets are trying their best to accelerate entry into this industry.
However, the security of technology transfer also makes decision-makers trouble.
At the end of 2006, the United States Westinghouse Consortium officially won the bid for the construction of the third-generation nuclear power plant in China. Subsequently, China National Nuclear Power Technology Co., Ltd. and the United States Westinghouse Consortium formally signed the third-generation nuclear power technology transfer and nuclear island equipment procurement contract in Beijing. Four AP1000 units will be introduced from Westinghouse Electric Corporation of America. The technologies transferred include AP1000 main pump technology, AP1000 blast valve technology, containment technology, pressure vessels, steam generators, integrated head sealing technology, and operation management technology and other core technologies. .
Originally excluded Areva was greatly stimulated. According to reports from outsiders, some Chinese officials told Areva that AREVA will not be completely excluded from the “Great Leap Forward” process of China's nuclear power.
Sure enough, in November 2007 when French President Nicolas Sarkozy visited China, Areva won a cooperation agreement in the field of civilian nuclear energy worth 8 billion euros. The huge amount is also unprecedented in the global civilian nuclear energy market.
At this moment, China and nuclear power planning once again entered the stage of “experimental field”, in which the Westinghouse AP1000 technology, the French EPR technology, and the third-generation nuclear power technology of the Qinshan nuclear power plant were temporarily competed on the same stage to view the effects.
It is understood that the specific business contract between Areva and Guangdong Nuclear Power Group is still under negotiation.
While nuclear power is still being discussed for third-generation nuclear power technology, the fourth-generation nuclear power technology developed independently has been written by Chinese scientific researchers into the schedule, “around 2035.” Senior Nuclear Power expert Wang Naiyan said.
Small data, "The National Nuclear Power Development Thematic Plan" shows that by 2020, China will strive to increase the installed nuclear power capacity from the current 9.068 million kilowatts to 40 million kilowatts, and eventually build 20 nuclear power plants. These nuclear power plants will fully adopt the world’s most advanced third-generation nuclear power technology. At present, China’s nuclear power construction adopts the model of Areva, Westinghouse and Qinshan’s third-generation technology.
