Non-clogging pump design

With the development of science and technology, the application area of ​​pumping solid substances is expanding, such as sewage sludge, mud pulp, ash residue, grain starch, beet fruit, shellfish and so on. There are two main requirements for pumps that deliver these substances: First, there is no blockage and second, wear resistance. The main wear-resistant and material-related, non-clogging depends mainly on the structure of the impeller.

Currently as the main structure of non-clogging pump impeller are: 1. Open or semi-open impeller; 2. Swirl impeller; 3. Single (dual) flow impeller; 4. Spiral centrifugal impeller. These non-clogging impeller has its own characteristics, for different occasions, as follows:

Open or semi-open impellers - such as increased wear gap, decreased pump performance, and no clogging performance, can not transport large particles, long fiber material

Swirling impeller - no clogging performance, good wear resistance, suitable for conveying large particulate matter, but nondestructive, the destruction of the transport material, capable of conveying gas-containing liquid, not suitable for conveying liquid containing long fiber material

Single-flow impeller - good non-destructive conveying material, non-blocking performance, suitable for conveying large particles of long fiber material, and good wear resistance, but the balance of high demand, poor running balance

Dual-flow impeller - passing capacity slightly worse than the single, but because of the symmetrical flow, balanced performance, stable operation, suitable for high-lift, high-flow pump

Spiral centrifugal impeller - good non-blocking, suitable for containing liquid particles and fibrous materials, the destructive transport of small, good non-destructive, but the balance of higher
