In the early 1980s, the water meter industry was organized by the Shanghai Industrial Automation Instrumentation Research Institute of the Ministry of Machinery Industry. According to the requirements of the international standard ISO4046 for water meters at that time, a water meter with eight pointers and integral impellers was designed for the nationally unified design of small-diameter water meters. . The unified design and the plasticization of water meter components have created favorable conditions for the organization of specialized production of water meters, which has greatly promoted the progress and development of China's water meter industry and met the growing needs of the urban and rural tap water industry.
