2-Alarm fire in Cicero, 6-1-21

From Chi-Town Fire Photos:

On Tuesday afternoon, Cicero fire companies were initially dispatched to 28th and Cicero Avenue after reports of flames coming from a building. However, multiple calls corrected the address to 4827 and 4829 West 28th Street. Engine Company 3 arrived on scene and reported heavy fire showing from the rear of a 2.5-story wood-frame structure with exposure issues. Shortly after, Cicero Engine 12 arrived and quickly boxed in the fire. They reported significant fire involvement in two 2.5-story buildings. Multiple 2.5-inch attack lines were deployed from all three Cicero engine companies. Truck Company 2 made an aggressive Milwaukee-style roof cut, which ultimately helped save the remainder of the roof on one of the buildings. Truck Company 1 was positioned on the roof of the adjacent building and made several ventilation holes to help control the fire. Mutual aid assistance came from departments in Berwyn, Stickney, Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park, Bedford Park, Lyons, and Riverside. All responding units worked aggressively from both the interior and exterior, making every effort to prevent the fire from spreading further and protecting the remaining structures and exposures.
