According to the survey and analysis report, according to the 2004 economic census, there are 22,000 auto parts manufacturers in China, of which 5,600 are above-scale enterprises. The 2007 survey showed that 7580 companies have reached the scale of parts and components. From January to November 2008, the total industrial output value of the auto parts industry was 8658 billion yuan, and the sales revenue for the same period was 837.9 billion yuan.
From the perspective of the overall structure of the world's auto parts industry, in 2007, the world’s major auto parts industry countries were the United States ($214 billion), Japan ($199.6 billion), Germany ($109 billion), and China ($102 billion). South Korea ($54 billion), Brazil ($36 billion) and India ($18 billion). In terms of auto parts exports, China ranks fourth behind the United States, Japan, and Germany.
Statistics show that China’s auto parts industry has been steadily increasing its position in the automotive industry as a whole, and its status in the national economy has also been constantly improving. In 2007, the proportion of auto parts output value in the total output value of the auto industry reached 28.3%, while the proportion of industrial added value reached 42.7%. From the point of view of the value-added structure of the automotive industry, automobile vehicles accounted for 44%, modified vehicles accounted for 5%, engines accounted for 4%, and auto parts accounted for 43%.
From the statistics of the number of industries, the number of people employed in the auto parts industry in China was 1.75 million in the year ended November 2008, an increase of 160,000 from 2007; the number of people employed in the country’s major industrial systems ranked the 12th, indicating that The per capita value creation of the parts and components industry is still relatively high.
