Hino, Shanghai: Preparing for the full range of China IV

On May 16, 2012, the "2012 Beijing International Road Transport, Urban Public Transport Vehicles and Parts Exhibition" was organized by the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Transport, the China Academy of Highways and the Beijing Municipal Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The conference center was grandly held. The exhibition with the theme of "For safety, our actions" attracted a large number of vehicle and component companies. Shanghai Hino took the classic P11C and J08 engines that met the national IV emission standards.

Shanghai Hino's engine products that meet the National IV emission standards are not unfamiliar to the industry. As early as at the 2009 Shanghai Bus Show, the National IV engine met with professional visitors. Two different technical routes were adopted by Shanghai Hino to meet the requirements of the National IV emissions. The 11-liter P11C uses an electronically controlled high pressure common rail + EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) + DOC (diesel oxidation catalytic converter) route. The 7.7-liter J08E is Take the SCR route commonly used in China.

The head of the Shanghai-based Hino told reporters that compared to other domestic engine companies, Shanghai Hino’s model IV was put on the market later. “Some domestic engine manufacturers have already introduced the engines of the National IV standard as early as 2006. Hino is the first domestic manufacturer that has the ability to produce heavy duty diesel engines with a volume III emission standard, but our national development strategy is stable. In order to make progress, we are not eager to open up new markets, but on the basis of ensuring the reliability and stability of the products of the State III, we will develop models that meet the national IV emission standards.

In July 2008, when China fully welcomed the heavy-duty vehicle emission standard III, Shanghai Hino took advantage of this huge business opportunity and its sales volume increased from about 1,000 units in 2005 and 2006 to 9,000 units. In the face of the forthcoming national emission standards that will be implemented in July 2012, Shanghai Hino is clearly ready.
