China's multi-wire cutting machine was successfully developed

Today, we learned from the China Electronics Technology Group that the development of the 300mm multi-wire cutting machine, one of the major national science and technology projects "Very large scale integrated circuit manufacturing equipment and complete sets of technology", has been successful. The successful development of this equipment with completely independent intellectual property rights will break the current status of all 12-inch multi-wire cutting machines operating on domestic production lines as imported equipment.
"Slicing wafers" is a key part of the solar photovoltaic cell manufacturing process. In brief, the process is to use a wire saw to cut solid silicon ingots of monocrystalline or polycrystalline silicon into very thin silicon wafers as substrates for the manufacture of photovoltaic cells. Since silicon wafers are the most expensive part of crystalline silicon photovoltaic cell technology, reducing the manufacturing cost of this part is critical to improving the competitiveness of solar energy use.
The "300mm multi-wire cutting machine technology" designed and equipped by China Electronics Engineering Group has overcome the practical problems of wire breakage, displacement of moving arms, non-adhesion of steel wire, etc. It can cut 156mm x 156mm silicon wafers at a time. Up to 6,000 pieces, and together with the â€œ601 Solar Multi-Wire Cutting Machineâ€, a series of multi-wire cutting equipment was formed, which occupies the domestic technical commanding height in this field. It is reported that China Electronics has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the world's largest solar wafer company to carry out research and development of large wire saws. It is expected that the acceptance of the production line of commercial models will be completed before and after June this year.
