Although LED was invented in 1962, its time for real lighting began in 2000 when OSRAM, Germany, invested $500 million in white LED industrialization projects. Since then, PHILIPS has integrated the upstream and downstream industries of LED through the power of capital. Japan NICHIA, CREE and other companies have also increased the industrialization research of lighting-grade white LEDs, while rapidly improving the performance of white LEDs, The cost of LED is reduced, which greatly promotes the technical progress and application speed of LED. Therefore, I feel that 2000 is the appropriate starting year for LED lighting. Secondly, the main LED lighting products are still in the stage of replacing traditional light sources and lamps.
