The environment of the shed plays an important role in the production of poultry and is a key issue in solving diseases and improving production performance. The high carbon dioxide concentration in the broiler house will cause the oxygen concentration in the house to be too low, and the chicken house will be deprived of oxygen, which will cause chronic poisoning, which will cause the appetite of the chicken to decline and the physical fitness to weaken. Therefore, it is of great significance to improve the production capacity of laying hens and reduce the morbidity and mortality. The carbon dioxide monitor plays an important role in the detection of carbon dioxide in chicken houses.
Carbon dioxide monitor wireless sensor network as a new information acquisition technology and processing technology, with large-scale nodes, small size, low cost, ad hoc network and other characteristics, the application prospects in the field of environmental monitoring is broad. In recent years, many researchers have applied wireless communication technologies to the greenhouse field, such as Bluetooth-based distributed greenhouse monitoring systems and GSM-based greenhouse monitoring systems.
The sensor node is a basic component of the CO2 real-time monitoring system and requires data acquisition, data processing, and wireless communication. The sensor selection mainly considers the factors such as the parameter detection requirements in the chicken house, sensor power consumption, measurement accuracy, measurement range, cost, and convenience. In the system designed in this study, the carbon dioxide detection in the chicken house uses an infrared sensor module, the sensor size is 33mm × 33mm × 12.7mm; service life is 10 years, the supply voltage is 5V, the consumption current is 25mA/h; the measurement range is 0 ~ 5000μL /L, high accuracy, ± 30μL/L ± 5% reading; provides serial and I2C digital communication interface.
Through testing, the 1500mAh capacity lithium battery can only work for WSD nodes for 2.5d without any low power consumption measures. By controlling data sampling intervals and adopting low-power measures such as hibernation, a single-cell lithium battery can be used for more than 3 months after it is charged once. Continuous 70d CO2 monitoring results show that the system designed in this study can achieve real-time remote and accurate measurement of carbon dioxide in the house.
This study designed a wireless cobweb-based henhouse carbon dioxide monitor. The system can realize rapid self-organizing of sensor nodes and real-time collection, transmission and display of carbon dioxide in chicken houses. The experimental results show that power consumption can be reduced by controlling data sampling intervals and taking measures such as hibernation, and the system can realize remote and accurate measurement of carbon dioxide in the house. Based on the existing research, the next step will be to increase the monitoring parameters of the house to achieve accurate monitoring of more environmental parameters in the house.
