Transas , the world's leading provider of integrated navigation solutions , has received an ECDIS- type approval from the Korea Classification Society (Korea Marine Equipment Research Institute) , marking Transas as one of the few ECDIS suppliers to be certified by the Korean Maritime Administration . The certification issued by the Korea Marine Equipment Research Institute confirms that the system complies with all ECDIS regulations applicable to ships flying the Korean flag , including not only Navi-SailorECDIS itself, but also all Transas accessories. All tests were successfully passed within a week of the Transas R&D Center.
Once certified, Transas partner soon with South Korea Arion Communications received two copies ECDIS contract. The first contract will deliver the world-famous Navi-Sailor 4000ECDIS to ships of nine Dong-A tankers , and the contract is expected to expand to install bilingual ECDIS and tools for more than 20 vessels .
The second contract is to supply the RadasNavi-Sailor4000ECDISPremium with radar coverage for 10 oil / chemical tankers of South Korea's Woolim Shipping Company . Woolim Shipping has been in operation since 1983 and currently has 22 oil / chemical tankers.
Synthetic Winch Rope Flatlink
Conventional winch hooks can cut and fray recovery straps and often allow strap ends to escape during momentary slack cycles of a typical winching recovery. Screw pin shackles do not allow strap loops to escape due to the secure screw pin attachment. The FlatLink does not require splicing and is compatible with steel cables or synthetic ropes up to 3/8 inches in diameter. The cable eye is retained in the FlatLink by a 5/8 inch diameter grade 5 steel double shear pin and internal snap ring. It is installed easily in minutes. The EPDM Rubber Guards protect alloy fairleads and are securely attached to the FlatLink with 4 barbed tips. The FlatLink stows neatly against either roller or Hawse type fairleads and is designed to be used with common 3/4 inch shackles.
