Which kind of transmission technology will become the mainstream in the future? A few days ago, at the 7th International Automotive Training Institute (CTI) Transmission Technology Innovation Symposium held in Berlin, more than 40% of participants responded to this site survey and stated that dual clutch technology will become the mainstream of the transmission after 2020 technology. The dual-clutch technology has attracted a lot of interest from OEMs, especially European OEMs and fast-growing Asian markets such as China's OEMs. BorgWarner estimated that the global production of dual clutches will increase at an average annual rate of 42%, from approximately 600,000 units in 2008 to 5 million units in 2014. BorgWarner expects that they will supply Dual Tronic control technology products, dual clutch technology products, or both at the same time to over 80% of the dual clutch transmissions produced worldwide.
