On Saturday afternoon, a fire broke out in an attached garage on Middleton Court, prompting a quick response from Des Plaines Fire Department and several mutual aid fire companies. Des Plaines Engine 61 was the first to arrive and confirmed the fire in the garage. The crews launched an aggressive attack, but some flames managed to spread into the main house. Engine 61 was positioned at a hydrant located in the cul-de-sac, allowing for a steady water supply.
Interior crews reported that fire had reached the top of the stairs on the second floor and had also extended into the attic. To manage the growing situation, Des Plaines received assistance from Prospect Heights, Mount Prospect, Niles, and the North Maine Fire Protection District.
Multiple fire trucks were seen on the scene, including a Pierce Enforcer and a Pierce ArrowXT, as crews worked to contain and extinguish the blaze. The incident highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts between neighboring departments during large-scale emergencies.
