On Saturday afternoon, a fire broke out in an attached garage on Middleton Court, prompting a swift response from Des Plaines Fire Department and mutual aid fire companies. Des Plaines Engine 61 was the first to arrive and confirmed the fire in the garage. The crews launched an aggressive attack, but some flames spread into the main house. Engine 61 was positioned at a hydrant in the cul-de-sac, allowing for a strong water supply.
Interior crews reported that fire had reached the top of the stairs on the second floor and had also extended into the attic. To manage the growing situation, Des Plaines received assistance from Prospect Heights, Mount Prospect, Niles, and North Maine Fire Protection District. Multiple fire trucks were dispatched, with several units equipped with high-pressure pumps and ladders to tackle the spreading flames.
The scene was chaotic as firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further. Several images captured the intensity of the operation, showing fire engines, ladder trucks, and crews actively working on the scene.
