According to foreign reports, Toyo Ink Manufacturing Co. is currently taking steps to optimize the operating efficiency of its organic pigment production bases in Japan, Europe and China. To this end, the company's Fuji plant in Japan will be committed to producing high-end organic pigment products needed in the local market and will transfer low-grade general-purpose products to Chinese production.
Toyo Ink has established organic pigment production bases in Tianjin and Zhuhai, China, with a total production capacity of approximately 7,000-8,000 tons per year. Its Tianjin base production plant products and printing ink matching, product export is limited; but Zhuhai base products for export. Toyo focuses on the production of general-purpose products such as azo pigments and phthalocyanine pigments at its China site. In this adjustment, Toyo focuses on opening up China's cost-competitive general-purpose pigment products and strives to further penetrate into the international market.
With the influx of low-cost products from Asia, the European market competition will become more severe. To this end, Toyo Ink intends to stop production of low-profit general-purpose products at the French site and increase the proportion of high-grade pigments in the area from the current approximately 20% to more than 50%.
